Dubai World Invests In Las Vegas

Recently the CityCenter, the Las Vegas Boulevard construction site owned by Dubai World, the investment arm of the Persian Gulf state of Dubai and the MGM Mirage, saw its sixth death of a construction worker in 16 months of the construction project.

Dubai World owns half of the ownership of the CityCenter with a $5 Billion investment and a 9.4 percent ownership of MGM Mirage. The $9.2 billion construction site has been in the Las Vegas local news due to the "unsafe job site". Union workers went on strike recently protesting unsafe working conditions after the sixth death of a construction worker.

Dubai World, a United Arab Emirates (UAE) owned company had previously been involved with investing in British-owned Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O). That purchase in 2006 would have given Dubai World control over six U.S. ports in New York, Miami, Newark-Port Elizabeth, Philadelphia, New Orleans and Baltimore. Politicians around the country assembled together to raise alarms about the vital ports falling into the hands of Arabs. The Bush administration had given quick approval, but protests followed. Critics screamed that two of the 9/11 hijackers were from the UAE and that the emirate was used as a financial and operational hub by
al-Qaeda.

Few know that the emirate has continued to invest in America. MGM Mirage recently fired over 400 casino workers in Las Vegas and the controversy raises an eyebrow. Is MGM Mirage selling out America?

In the past few decades American workers have seen their employer become foreign. Many American industries vanished only to be moved overseas. What do Americans think about this huge investment of Las Vegas Real Estate & Jobs being purchased by Dubai World?

If we use the article in the previous entry; Using Knowledge to Alleviate Ignorance, subtiled: Using Research to Conquer Ignorance we can answer many of our questions about Islam. At the very least, by doing our own independent research and conducting a self-study with the information available to us, we can have a better understanding of just what Islam is.

As we scrape the tip of the iceberg into the subject of Islam we see apparent fractions in Islam just as divisions in Christianity have developed. Today there are so many different churches calling themselves Christian Churches and so many versions of the bible that the only common denominator among them is the belief of Jesus Christ as Lord. The practices of some of these so-called Christian churches and the printing of some bizarre bibles carry a word quite different than what is accepted in traditional Christendom. In addition, translation of ancient text by mankind has frequently been tampered with to the convenience of man.

Interpretations of both the Holy Bible and the Quran has been subjected to misrepresentation by faulty people who have in turn mislead their followers with something completely different what either the Holy Bible or the Quran say.

In order to study Islam and understand Islam we need to study the Quran. (Also sometimes spelled Koran or Qur'an.) In the sidebar to the right under the heading 24/7.com The Propaganda Machine of Islam & World Public Enemy Number One we have added many links to study Islam. There are numerous links displaying translations to English versions of the Quran. We do this so that we may look at many different English versions of the Quran and safeguard ourselves by checking that they each are identical in form, or at least with few discrepancies of any major significance between them. We have also added numerous evidence of Islamic hatred and violence reports including the teaching of evil to children and the honor killing of girls and women. Also included are web sites of Islamic studies and teachings. Some of these such as those of Submission.org attempt to explain (with evidence) how the Quran does not teach what the terrorist or Islam Extremist claim it does.

For this lesson, we will study the teachings of the authors of Submission.org. as well as ask some questions which are popular among Christians and non-Christians alike in regards to Islam. (See their note on Terrorism, Editors Note... Also see Cult or religion in research library below)

Is our God the same God? Is the Jew's God the same God of Christians? Is adultery in Islam punishable by stoning or even death? Using Research to Conquer Ignorance

In order to solve any problem we must first understand what causes the problem. In order to understand what causes a problem, we must first do our research. When we do our research we will find the knowledge required in order to solve our problem.

In order to win any debate, we must also equip ourselves with knowledge. We equip ourselves with knowledge by again doing research. Without research we surrender knowledge to ignorance. With in-depth research we fortify our knowledge and eliminate ignorance. Thus, we win debates and we solve problems.

Ignorance allows propaganda to infiltrate our minds. Misinformation or half truths (propaganda) is what destroys our higher intelligence because we think and make decisions based upon false information. Our intellect can only be heightened by a greater understanding which can only come from knowledge.

Extensive research is the only way one can be absolutely certain he or she is receiving correct information in which provides the basis for decision. In other words, intelligent thinking or knowledge is based on facts rather than fiction or ignorance.

Examples of harmful propaganda is when we read something which is not true and we base our thought pattern on the subject because we believe it to be true. We may read an email sent to us by a friend who forward it to us from a long list of senders who continued the propaganda email chain. What began as one person's opinion or distorted and fabricated statement about someone or something now becomes our belief. Something which is totally not true, but fed our emotions, is now something we not only believe is true, we also participate in forwarding the email to others and thus continuing to spread the propaganda.

Out emotions WANT us to believe the contents of the propaganda.

So, the propaganda lives on in our minds until such time we pause and research the subject matter at question and discover we have been fed lies. If you take the first two letters and the last two letters off of the word believe you arrive at the word lie. When you peel back statements you have heard or read with a closer look you also often see a similar parallel hiding under the covers. Be it an email or simply one writer's work, a piece of fabrication or distorted truths, we often find facts by doing our own research which dispels our previous thinking. Thus, now armed with the facts (from many sources due to in-depth research) we have moved up on the intellectual scale.

We are now able to make rational or logical decisions because we are using facts instead of misinformation to base our decisions.

Facts give us knowledge and ignorance is dispelled.

The aforementioned ideology pertaining to research, more specifically self-study for higher learning, can be applied to any subject matter in question. In order to be a problem solver second-to-none or a master debater on any given subject one has to do independent research in order to find the facts needed to support one's claim. 24/7.com has provided those tools for you so that you can explore your own fact-finding mission.

Although we will voice our own opinions on any given subject, our goal is not to convince you of our way of thinking on any particular subject matter, but to provide you with some tools to help you arrive at your own decision or thought process by assisting you with knowledge. Loaded with knowledge you will then be able to draw your own conclusions and decisions for a higher level of thinking based on facts rather than propaganda--or someone else's opinion.

This does not mean one actually needs to be on the frontlines of any particular activity in order to do self-research. One can collect information from many sources from research experts, professionals, or firsthand accounts or from those in the know in order to arrive at a factual database filled with truthful information.

Think for yourself and make your own intelligent decisions based upon your own research of information sources. Don't let others do your thinking for you. God gave you the brain in order to make up your own mind once you were provided with the facts. Think smart and use your own brain to find answers to your questions. Find solutions to your problems and find the facts you need to find in order to base your decisions for thinking the way you will--higher thinking--the wisdom to be able to make your own judgments.

Verify everything which is important if you are not already certain of the accuracy of a certain piece of information input into your mind. Higher intelligence tells us to verify what we receive as information in order to protect our minds from propaganda. We don't simply want to believe something is true, we want to know something is the truth. If you are uncertain about a statement being one of truth, you need to verify it and be certain it is a fact before forwarding that piece of information on to someone else or else you could be participating in spreading propaganda. The greater your audience, the greater the damage.

Decades ago the marketing Atomic bomb crashed through the roofs of Mom & Pop stores across America. The old-fashion mom and pop stores gave way to change in America and soon faded from the nation's landscape. The explosion of corporate-owned chain-stores called mini-markets soon replaced the long-standing independent mom & pop stores. The corporate "convenient" stores soon added self-service gasoline pumps.

Full-service gasoline stations began to disappear as well. Self-service convenient stores replaced full-service gasoline stations. Americans could no longer sit behind the wheel of their automobile and receive full-service attention while having their gasoline tanks filled with fuel. Things like having their windshields cleaned, their oil checked, even their tire pressure checked soon became a thing of the past or became a rarity. Now Americans had to pump their own fuel and do maintenance checks on their autos for themselves. Eventually, "self-service" would mean paying more for less service.

As food and gasoline and prices of other consumer goods went up, you were getting less service and doing more of the work yourself. There was a new meaning to "Independence".

Small, family-owned grocery stores gave way during the same era to large company-owned super stores. The independent grocer was replaced by corporate conglomerates. Supermarkets sprung up on American landscape and super centers soon followed. Grocery stores got into department store business and department stores started selling groceries. Super centers, or supermarket expressways now made one-stop shopping experience handy--or sometimes a nightmare. 24/hour shopping also became possible.

The single cash register was replaced with three checkout counters. Three checkout counters were replaced with 20-checkout counter stores. You have seldom if ever seen all of the checkout counters used at once in any of the big stores. Supermarket Expressways became gridlocked and long lines of shopper-traffic jams continued during peak "rush-hour" shopping traffic at markets with even the countless rows of check out counters. There was never enough manpower (or woman power) to man all those checkout counters to begin with. What do you do with 20 cashiers when there is no shoppers in the store?

Then came the idea of "express checkout". What used to be "5 items or less, cash only" became "10 items or less" and now often "20 items or less" and pay with whatever you have, cash, check, credit card, debit card, or any other legal means of commerce you may have. It is not unusual to find someone cheating the system, not obeying the Supermarket Expressway traffic signs, "20 items or less", as they navigate their semi shopping cart stuffed full with seemingly 100 plus items in the express lane. So much for "express". If you stopped in for a single item you could plan on spending a lot of time cashing out thanks to the express lane violators and due to the fact there is seldom, if ever, a supermarket expressway traffic cop around when you need one.

Wait! There is more! It is always the least experienced clerk behind the express checkout counter. The most experienced clerks operate the regular checkouts, which means the express lane is going to move slooooow!

But then the next generation of ideas come along. Self checkout. Holy smokes, a crooks dream! No need for a clerk to check you out, simply swipe your groceries over a scanner and pay with a choice of options when you are done. One clerk will assist a multiple of self-checkout counters. No need to pay any more people than necessary, when customers can check themselves out. But then again, this new grand idea finds its own bottleneck, customers who don't have a clue how to use them. Thus, long lines form as frustrated shoppers behind the disabled, confused shopper keep glancing at their wrist watches.

Home grocery delivery might not be a bad idea after all, since many stores are getting into that line of service. But then, what if you just want that single item or two? Why should it take all day in order to purchase just that one or two items? Is there any mastermind out there who can solve the decades-old problem of gridlock supermarket expressways?

While more people are being put out of work because of modern machines and technology, we seem to have no faster service than what we had decades ago when prices were reasonable. And, when we did a lot less work ourselves as a CUSTOMER.

What is a Declining Reward Method as proposed by 24/7.com Problem Solvers?

A declining reward is a system used to motivate people with information about a crime to come forward sooner, rather than later.

When there is an urgency for law enforcement to gain information quickly on a crime such as murder, kidnapping, missing persons or suspects involved in foul play, stolen weapons or any situation where life or property is in jeopardy, the Declining Reward would come into play.

Since reward offers often motivate people in the know to come forward to help law enforcement solve a crime or solve a mystery, the declining reward stimulates them to do so sooner. Law enforcement and/or families need answers as soon as possible, thus the declining reward offers a larger reward to those who come forward ASAP, rather than to those who wait.

Examples of a Declining Reward:

A convenient store is robbed, and a clerk is murdered. The store owners, and/or family or some other group offers a reward for the information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s).

The initial reward goes out and is publicly published at say $10,000. The first bulletin announcing the reward is issued on Monday and provides a 24-hour deadline for the people in the know to come forward and offer the police the information they have on the crime and the suspects they claim to be involved. In order to receive the full amount of the Declining Reward the informant must come forward within that 24-hour period. Failure to contact police within that 24-hour period leads the reward to drop on Tuesday to only $9,000. With the ability to collect that amount ($9,000) only if the person(s) with the information steps forward within that next 24-hour period. Each day, or 24-hour period the reward declines by another $1,000 until it disappears all together with no reward offered, or to an amount that levels off and continues for the remaining life of the reward offer. For instance, say it drops to $5,000 and then only a $5,000 reward will remain until the crime is solved.

A Reward Bulletin Might Look Like This:

A $10,000 Declining Reward Is Offered in the Jane Doe Murder Case. If you have information about this crime you have 24-hours to come forward to the Metro Police Department with information which will lead to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s) of this crime in order to collect the entire amount. In 24-hours the reward will be reduced to only $9,000 and you will no longer be eligible to collect the full amount. Each 24-hour period the declining reward will be reduced by $1,000 until no reward is offered. (or to only $5,000.) So, if you have information on this crime, you are urged to come forward now in order to take advantage of the full reward amount of $10,000.

If set up correctly, the declining reward offer encourages people who are aware of a crime and who hold inside knowledge of that crime to speak to law enforcement officials in a timely manner. It provides a greater reward to those who come forward quickly, than for those who delay, thus solving crimes quicker and possibly saving additional lives while getting dangerous criminals off the street sooner.

The police and the parties offering the declining reward can set any amounts or time limit combinations they desire. Instead of a 24-hour interval of decreasing reward amounts, they may elect to offer a one-week interval before the amount offered as a reward drops. Different combinations of reward money, time intervals and other conditions can be made by the designers of the reward depending on the urgency of the crime or life threatening situation, such as a reward canceling out completely, or reducing to a smaller amount to remain in place for an unlimited period of time. A $100,000 reward offer could drop to a $50,000 reward offer and then continuing to drop to smaller amounts from there. There is no limit on the design or manner of a declining reward. The sooner someone comes forward with critical information the more that person will be rewarded and thus the sooner law enforcement can capture dangerous criminals.

During and after the commission of many crimes other people are aware of the crime or have knowledge about the crime. The declining reward can encourage these persons to come forward quickly. They would know that if they wait to come forward, they would lose the financial gain of coming forward sooner, rather than later.

The Declining Reward Method is one tool law enforcement could use to help solve crimes quickly and/or capture fugitives from justice. It could also be instrumental is saving lives.
